-How do I freeze my milk in your milk trays
Once you have safely expressed your breast milk pour it into the clean trays leaving room at the top of each bar for expansion. Once full place the lids on the trays and transfer to a level place in your freezer (it is safe to stack the trays to help with space saving).
-Once my milk is frozen how do I remove from the trays and store it?
Once you milk has frozen completely you can remove the bars from the tray and transfer them to a freezer bag or other freezer safe storage solution. Make sure that you label the bag/container with the date that the milk was expressed. Since you will likely have multiple days of milk in each container make sure to clearly mark the entire range contained inside. Once you have removed the milk from the trays wash them (they are dishwasher safe) and they will be ready to use again.
-How do I thaw my breast milk bars when I am ready to use them?
You can thaw your milk a few different ways. You can either place the milk bars directly into bottles and allow them to thaw directly in the bottle you will give your baby, or you can remove the number of bars that your baby will consume for the day and thaw them in a larger bowl. You can then pour the thawed milk into multiple bottles. Visit our breast milk safety tab for more information on safely handling and storing breast milk.
-How does the milk tray decrease the use of single use plastics?
While we understand transferring your milk bars to quart or gallon freezer bags does not completely eliminate single use plastic it does greatly reduce the number of single use bags compared to the traditional method of breast milk storage.
-How can I use my milk trays once my baby is no longer drinking breast milk?
Once your baby has started trying solid foods our milk trays make an excellent solution for freezing baby food. You use the milk trays the same way you would for breast milk, just replace your milk with homemade food. The baby food will then be frozen in perfect portion sizes! The silicone trays make removal of baby food bars easier than traditional plastic ice cube trays, so there is no need to bang the trays on the counter to get the food out! Our milk trays can also be used to make ice cubes that will fit easily into narrow neck water bottles. The milk tray is a product that can be used for many years as your child grows and their needs change.
